The Pullman School District is pleased to announce that Elizabeth Pavlik has been recommended for hire as the next Principal of Franklin Elementary School, starting July 1, 2025. Ms. Pavlik was most recently serving as a Principal at Hendricks Public School in Hendricks, Minnesota and was selected after an extensive and thorough selection process. The recommendation for Ms. Pavlik's appointment will be presented to the Pullman School District Board of Directors at their meeting on June 11, 2025. We are pleased with the strong applicant pool that was interviewed and are confident that we have recommended an excellent administrator for Franklin Elementary.

The selection process, held on June 5, 2025, included a formal interview and presentation, a written exercise, an observation of a lesson with feedback, a student-led school tour, and open forums for staff, families and community members. Throughout each phase, Ms. Pavlik demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, a clear vision for student success, and a deep commitment to fostering positive school culture.

The interview committee included district and building administrators, a member of the Board of Directors, school staff members, and elementary parents selected through a lottery process. The open forums provided staff, families, and community members the opportunity to engage with each candidate, ask questions, and provide valuable feedback.

One staff member noted Ms. Pavlik's, "experience at multiple elementary grade levels and as an instructional coach and administrator gives a wide-berth that would be helpful in an administration position.  Felt like she would easily build positive relationships with staff, students and families." Staff and families frequently cited her student-centered approach and collaborative leadership style as key strengths.

Ms. Pavlik brings a wealth of teaching experience, previously serving as classroom teacher and instructional coach, along with educational administration expertise with previous experience serving as a Principal and Assistant Principal. Ms. Pavlik holds a Master's degree in Educational Administration from Concordia University.

Superintendent Dr. Bob Maxwell expressed confidence in the selection, stating, "We are excited to welcome Ms. Pavlik to Franklin Elementary. Her leadership experience and student-centered approach will be an excellent match for the Franklin community. We are confident she will continue to support a strong learning environment and build meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families”
